Bequests

People with intellectual disabilities are among the community’s most disadvantaged. By making a bequest to the Intellectual Disability Foundation of St George through your Will you would be making a significant contribution to their lives, now and in the future.

Leaving a bequest to the Foundation means that you have the use of your funds or property during your lifetime and you provide assistance to us after your death. You may choose to leave a particular asset or a specified sum of money, or you can leave a percentage of your total estate or a percentage of the residue of your estate. This means that you can ensure family and friends are provided for as well as benefiting the Foundation.

You may choose to leave your bequest freely - “no strings attached” so that the Foundation can apply the money to the area of most need. It is also possible to leave a bequest with a specification that it is used for a particular purpose - for example a house for the purpose of providing accommodation for people with intellectual disabilities. Government support in providing accommodation for people with an intellectual disability is well short of the demonstrated need.

Should you require any further information regarding a bequest to the Foundation, please do not hesitate to contact the CEO or Fundraising Manager on (02) 9505 8600 or email Click to send an email
