What to Expect in our Hospitality Course

The below breaks down the 4 terms of this certificate. We blend essential life skills like budgeting and simple cooking with job-specific training like work placements. By combining these skills, we set our students up for success in day-to-day life and in developing a fulfilling career.

Term 1

Orientation, Skills, Communication

Goal-setting, budgeting basics, workplace behaviour, simple cooking, email setup.

Term 3

Job Readiness and Career Planning

Advanced budgeting, career discovery, resume writing, mock interviews.

Term 2

Problem Solving, Teamwork, Wellness

Conflict resolution, teamwork exercises, mindfulness activities, work placements.

Term 4

Work Integration & Entrepreneurship

Work placements, customer service role-plays, pop-up stall projects, events.

The Benefits of a Certificate III in Hospitality

Completing a Certificate III in Hospitality builds real-world skills you can use anywhere. You’ll gain experience in customer service, food safety, bar and café operations, handling payments, teamwork, and workplace hygiene, the foundations every great venue relies on.

This qualification can lead to roles such as:

  • Gaming Attendant: supporting customers in arcades, operating POS systems, and troubleshooting equipment.

  • Waitstaff: taking food and beverage orders, recommending menu items, and delivering standout service.

  • Food and Beverage Attendant: serving quality meals, managing transactions, and maintaining presentation standards.

  • Barista: preparing espresso coffee, cappuccinos, lattes, flat whites, and more with consistency and care.

  • Bar Attendant: mixing simple drinks, managing orders, and processing payments efficiently.

  • Hotel Receptionist: welcoming guests, managing bookings, handling check-ins and check-outs, and connecting patrons with local services and attractions.

You can also continue your pathway with a Certificate IV at TAFE, specialising in areas such as commercial cookery, patisserie, or hospitality management.
